We’re marking today, Friday the 13th, with a good omen: it’s the official public opening of The Quantum Department of Transportation’s new executive travel lounge, Sips (with a Z). Sips (with a Z) opened to the press last night with a ribbon cutting and great fanfare.
The 3,250-square-foot lounge and bar is located on the second floor of Convergence Station, and has been in the works since the conception of the Denver exhibition. It is the original vision of Meow Wolf founder, Matt King and Senior Creative Director, Chadney Everett who, together with Senior Creative Producer, Susie Cowan, and Project Manager, Victoria Whonsetler, brought the space to life with more than 50 artists, designers and technical experts.
What’s really cool? This is a true artists collaboration between our Denver and Santa Fe teams, who both lent many a hand in its design and execution. The result is a sophisticated and artistic lounge, decorated in italian marble, neon lights, lush velvet, back alley graffiti, and classical sculptures, creating an exquisite combo that plays with the idea of high and low art.
The lounge features a full bar of artisanal, custom signature cocktails, crafted by Denver Food & Beverage Manager, Ben Johnson. Sophisticated snacks are also available for noshing.
Sips with a Z wouldn’t be debut-ready without the tireless efforts and support of Denver Director of Operations, Melissa Gassien, and Denver General Manager, Hans Vollrath, and their stellar teams. Travelers will be in good hands and good spirits!
Should you be looking for a happening new place to host your next party, the lounge can be booked for private events and other super special happenings seven days a week. Ticketed travelers of Convergence Station can also experience the lounge, when it’s open Fridays, Saturdays (12pm-12am) and Sundays (12pm-7pm) starting today.
